City of Niagara Falls to recognize first female to play in men’s baseball competition in Canada Summer Games history

On Saturday, June 3, at Oakes Park, the City of Niagara Falls will recognize Newfoundland native Jaida Lee, the first female to participate in men’s baseball competition in the 56-year history of the Canada Summer Games.

On August 8, 2022, while representing Newfoundland & Labrador, Jaida Lee pitched her way into the history books during the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.

Jaida is an inspiration for young female athletes and, while playing at Oakes Park in Niagara Falls, quickly drew a following of young fans as well as supporters of all ages. The City of Niagara Falls is recognizing Jaida for her accomplishments with a plaque on the Grandstand at Oakes Park and hopes to inspire generations to come.
