Outdoor Pools and Splash Pads

We are getting ready for our 2025 Outdoor Pool Season.

FH Leslie opening date is Sunday, June 8th!

Lions, Prince Charles and Buck Hinsperger Pools will open on Friday, June 27th.

Until we open, you can join us at the MacBain Community Centre.

Beat the heat by staying poolside this summer. Pack a picnic and spend the day enjoying the fun in the sun at one of our great outdoor pools.

Public Swimming is FREE.   

New for 2025 - Swim Team!

The City of Niagara Falls Swim Team is back! Our Niagara Falls Swim Team gives swimmers a foundation which will encourage them to continue swimming on a lifelong basis. Our coaches will promote confidence in and out of the water and experience competitive swimming in a positive, encouraging and rewarding atmosphere. Swimmers will compete in a few regional swim meets over the summer.

Swimmers must be comfortable in deep water, be able to swim 25 metres with no assistance and jump into the deep end with comfort.

Swim Team will run June 30th until August 16th. Junior Practice (6-9yrs) will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5-6:30pm. Senior Practice (10-17yrs) will be held on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 5-6:30pm. All practices will be held at Lions Club Pool. 

Cost - $153.00 (includes swim meets, swim cap)

$20 clip passes for 10 swims are available for purchase at MacBain Community Centre and Gale Arena.  Adult lane swims available at pools shown below. We will not be accepting money at the pools, you must pre-purchase you passes. MacBain Swim pass users may use their current swim pass as well to access the lane swim.

On Saturday, May 17th, splash pads opened daily from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm at several locations across the city:

Admission Standards

Admission Standards for public pools were developed by the Office of the Coroner of Ontario to assist lifeguards in maintaining adequate surveillance over the whereabouts and the activities of young bathers while they are within the pool enclosure.

The City of Niagara Falls would like to provide the most enjoyable Aquatic Experience for its swimmers.  To do this under the safest conditions, we have implemented the following Admission Standards that are based on recommendations from the Ontario Health Regulations, The Lifesaving Society and Niagara Public Health.

 To Help ensure your children have a safe and enjoyable swimming experience, we use colour-coded wristband procedures to identify swimmers. Please see the Lifeguard to obtain your wristband and complete your swim test. (Note these admission standards apply to the Outdoor Pools)

Swim Test

Jump Into Deep Water, Tread 1 minute, Swim 3 Widths of the Pool (2 Widths @ FH Leslie) continuously and comfortably (with face in the water).

Direct Supervision means in the water within arm's reach and able to render immediate assistance.

Swim Attire 

Program receipts for tax returns, references, etc.

What type of payments are accepted?

Mastercard or VISA. We are only accepting online payment this year.

Why am I getting the message my 'participant does not meet age requirement'?

1. You are trying to register a participant that is too young or too old for a particular program. The age requirement for each program is noted in the description.
2. Make sure you've selected your child's name under Name of Registrant. If it's not listed there, check your ActiveNet account set up and add their name(s) to your family, then complete your registration.

Family members were added, but are not showing up on the account

The names were not saved to the list. Once you have entered a new family member, select Continue (at the bottom of the screen) and when the second screen pops up, click Submit (if it doesn't pop-up check your browser settings for pop-up blockers). See the video below for a tutorial.

There was low or no registration. You will be notified and receive a full refund for any programs we have canceled.
