Youth are encouraged to volunteer as Tech Mentors and help spearhead this exciting new initiative, starting Fall 2023
NIAGARA FALLS, ON - The City of Niagara Falls, in collaboration with the Government of Ontario, is offering a new technology training program targeted towards older adults.
Cyber-Seniors is a six-week hands-on program offered at MacBain Community Centre (7150 Montrose Rd.), starting Fall 2023. Classes are two hours long, covering topics such as cyber safety, emailing tips, navigating smartphones & tablets, a beginner's guide to social media, and more.
Call for volunteers
The City is looking for volunteer Tech Mentors to facilitate Cyber-Seniors classes, acting as a resource on all things technology for older adults in the community. Tech Mentors will be working with groups of no more than five Cyber-Seniors at a time.
Becoming a Tech Mentor is a great way for students to build their resume or complete high school community service hours while honing leadership, communication, time management and decision-making skills.
