Niagara Falls Farmers' Market MacBain Community Centre

Market will relocate to its new, permanent home at The Exchange later this summer

NIAGARA FALLS, ON - Niagara Falls’ award-winning Farmers’ Market kicks off the 2023 market season at MacBain Community Centre on Saturday, May 20th, from 7 am – 1 pm.

The Farmers’ Market will relocate to its new, permanent home at the Niagara Falls Exchange later this summer upon substantial completion of the construction project. The Exchange is the City’s new 10,000-square-foot Arts & Culture hub and indoor/outdoor event space, located in the Main Street & Ferry Street neighbourhood adjacent to the Niagara Falls History Museum. In addition to the Farmers’ Market, The Exchange will also feature a café, artist & woodworking studios, an event and performance space, and two courtyards featuring public art and murals. For more information, visit nfexchange.ca.

“As The Exchange nears completion, we couldn’t ask for a better temporary location than MacBain Community Centre for our Farmers’ Market vendors and patrons,” said Clark Bernat, Manager of Culture & Museums. “This season, we have many of our returning vendors, as well as some new and exciting vendors, as part of the weekly lineup. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on May 20th and are excited to move into our new home at The Exchange later this summer,” continued Bernat.

The Market, which features upwards of 25 local farmers, growers, makers, and bakers, runs every Saturday from Victoria Day long weekend until Thanksgiving. On May 20th, marketgoers can expect a variety of offerings at MacBain Community Centre, including local produce, flowers, homemade baked goods & food, artisan goods and art from various Niagara-based creators. There will also be live music, contests, crafts, face painting and more.

The Farmers’ Market temporarily relocated to MacBain Community Centre in 2020 when The Exchange project broke ground. The Exchange’s 3,000-square-foot Market Hall is built on the site of the original Niagara Falls Farmers’ Market, which had operated on Sylvia Place since the 1970s.

The Niagara Falls Farmers’ Market was awarded ‘Market of the Year’ in 2021 by Famers’ Markets Ontario (FMO). The award recognizes outstanding farmers’ markets that add value to their community.
