NIAGARA FALLS, ON - The City of Niagara Falls is pleased to announce the appointment of Shelley Darlington to the position of General Manager of Corporate Services effective August 12, 2022. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, Ms. Darlington will lead a newly created Corporate Services division consisting of the departments of Finance, Legal, Risk Management, Procurement, Communications, and Information Systems.
Ms. Darlington brings to the City of Niagara Falls more than 25 years of progressive municipal experience and a track record of innovation, teamwork and collaboration. Ms. Darlington most recently held the position of General Manager, Corporate Services at Norfolk County. In this position, she held leadership responsibility for a number of technological and modernization projects including customer service digitalization, online and credit card payment processes, electronic procurement submissions and many other initiatives. Shelley will be a key leader as the City of Niagara Falls modernizes its customer service functions.
Shelley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo, a Diploma in Municipal Management (with Honours) from the University of Western Ontario and Seneca College and is a graduate of the Municipal Administration Program (with Distinction) from St. Lawrence College. She is a long-serving member of the Board of Directors for the Municipal Service Delivery Officials (MSDO), a national organization promoting citizen-centred service delivery excellence.
