NIAGARA FALLS, ON - The City of Niagara Falls is pleased to announce the appointment of Kira Dolch as the Director of Planning, Building and Development, effective January 17, 2022. Ms. Dolch joins the City following the retirement of Alex Herlovitch after his thirty years of exemplary service to our community.
Ms. Dolch most recently held the position of Director of Planning and Development Services at the Town of Fort Erie. As a graduate of Brock University, with a Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban and Environmental Studies, Ms. Dolch has over twenty-two years of experience and a proven track record in land use planning in the private and public sectors.
After starting her career as Planner for the Town of Niagara on the Lake, and then working with BLS Planning Associates, Ms. Dolch joined Fort Erie in 2003 as a Senior Development Planner and was promoted to successive positions including the Manager of Development Approvals, Associate Director of Planning and Development Services and the Town’s Director in 2020.
Ms. Dolch is a past recipient of the Ontario Planners Institute, Member Service Award where she served a three-year term as the District Chair. Kira is Registered Planner with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and an accredited member of the Congress of New Urbanism.
