NIAGARA FALLS, ON - Public skating returns to the Gale Centre on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 3:50 p.m. for the 2021/2022 season. Reservations are required and can be made only online, through the City's new recreation booking site, Niagara Falls ACTIVE Net. The program is open to all ages.
Space is limited each week to the first 75 skaters who register online. Subject to Public Health restrictions and guidelines, parents may watch young children from the stands.
The Gale Centre now accepts cash and debit payments at the customer service desk.
Families $7 (up to 5 members)
Proof of second vaccination and government-issued photo ID, or proof of exemption, are required to enter the Gale Centre, for those who are:
- Age 18 or older
- Age 12 or older and not skating
Face coverings are not required on the ice, but they are required everywhere else in the building.
Public Skating Rules
To help keep our public skating program safe and fun for everyone, skate patrollers will be on the ice each Sunday. Complete rules are posted at the rink and at niagarafalls.ca.
- Helmets are required for all participants age 15 and under (CSA approved hockey helmets are recommended)
- No skating aids, chairs, sleds, pylons, hockey sticks, pucks or other potential obstructions are permitted on the ice during public skates
- No personal instruction is allowed during public skates
Skate sharpening and rental services are not available at this time. Skaters should come dressed to skate as change rooms and lockers may not be available until later in the season.
