The City of Niagara Falls’ initiative to offer a healthy alternative to the traditional “Hallowe’en treat” is now being offered for sale! According to Mayor Jim Diodati, offering recreational passes again this year for people to purchase was an easy choice. “These tickets are hugely popular at Hallowe’en and also at Christmas for stocking stuffers! They are well used in our community, as hundreds are redeemed each year for a free-skate at the arena or free-swim at the YMCA.”
Collaborating on the Try-It Tickets again this year is community partner, the YMCA of Niagara. The YMCA has stepped up once again to offer a free family swim in addition to the original tickets which were for skating only.
Each Try-It Ticket can be redeemed for one free youth skate during Public Skating hours at the Gale Centre Arena or one free family swim at the YMCA at the MacBain Community Centre in Niagara Falls. They can be purchased in a book of 40 tickets for $10. Residents can purchase the pass-books at the following locations:
- Gale Centre Arena, 5152 Thorold Stone Road
- MacBain Community Centre, 7150 Montrose Road
- City Hall, 4310 Queen Street
Try-It Tickets will remain on sale until the end of the year. Tickets can be used until March 31st, 2020. Ticket use details including public skating and swimming hours are listed on each ticket.
Mayor Diodati believes that “having these tickets in our community provides an opportunity to engage the youth not only to get active, but to get active at our facilities.”
