Niagara District Airport

About the Niagara District Airport

The Niagara District Airport is located in the heart of the world-famous Niagara Region, ideally positioned for both business and tourists.  In addition to the famous Niagara Falls, the region offers a unique bounty of award-winning wine, craft brews, spirits, and critically acclaimed farm-to-table dining options.  Further, historic Niagara-on-the-Lake and its popular Shaw Festival Theatre, Casino Niagara, and Fallsview Casino Resort all add to the draw of the region.

Our central location, directly astride the Welland Canal, a main arterial highway in the Queen Elizabeth Way, and minutes from multiple Canada-United States border crossings, positions the Airport in an ideal situation to support the business needs of the Niagara community.

The Airport has a 5,000-foot runway, 24-hour Customs clearance, NAV CANADA on site, and Avgas and Jet Fuel refueling available.  The Airport currently supports a wide variety of aviation-related uses, including corporate and private charter traffic, all to support the 13 million visitors that Niagara attracts each year, with Niagara Falls as one of the top destinations in Canada.

The Airport is home to the oldest flight training school in Canada (90 years old), supports the presence of both fixed-wing and helicopter traffic, an continues to be an integral aspect of the Niagara Region's transportation options for the movement of goods, services and people.

The Airport is home to private business and supports emergency service providers (Police, Coast Guard, and Armed Forces) and medical supports (Medevacs, Ornge), in addition to agricultural uses and business aviation.  General aviation continues to contribute over $9 billion to the Canadian economy, with a significant and growing presence in the Niagara Region.
