Please note from Monday, December 24, 2018 to Wednesday, January 2, 2019 all overnight parking requests will be automatically approved. Therefore the process noted below is not required; however overnight parking restrictions will be in effect during snow plowing operations
Please be advised, that the overnight parking bylaw will be in full enforcement during the winter season.To ensure that our plow operations are safe and successful at clearing the city roadways, please remove your vehicle from the street between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Overnight Parking Request System
The Overnight Parking Request System allows you to make a request to park on the street overnight for special occasions or to accommodate overnight guests effortlessly. You can request an Overnight parking privilege and follow the 4 steps to have your request approved immediately. Overnight parking requests cannot be approved during snow plowing operation events.
**Overnight Parking Request system is for City of Niagara Falls residents and their guests only and not available for tourist area parking**
By-law No. 89-2000
By-law No. 89-2000 states that no vehicle shall be parked on either a City or Regional Road between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. unless it is posted otherwise. This by-law is in effect 365 days a year, however, levels of enforcement change during the year. A violation of this by-law is subject to a minimum fine of $25.00.
Overnight Parking Permit
There is an overnight parking permit, at an annual cost of $100.00 including taxes, available to those residents who do not have a driveway or the ability to park all their vehicles off the road at night. Special Parking Provisions
Should you require to park a vehicle on the street overnight for one or two nights due to driveway repairs, visitors or other events, please contact Transportation Services at (905) 356-7521 extension 4960. Courtesy requests will not be honoured during certain weather conditions, road maintenance, or other municipal requirements. A 24 hour advance warning is typically required, however if it is an emergency, please contact (905) 356-1355 and ask for a message to be sent to parking control.
Overnight Parking Complaints Taken All Year
Should you wish to make a complaint or inquiry about an overnight violator or any other parking violation, please contact the parking control office at 905-356-7521, extension 4960, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., please call 905-356-1179. Be advised that parking control officers will respond to complaints & enforcement will be applied universally - not just specific vehicles.
