Niagara Falls supports Toronto Raptors

Niagara Falls shines red to support the Toronto Raptors during the NBA playoff finals

The City of Niagara Falls is a part of the action as the Country comes together to support the Toronto Raptors during their play-off berth against the Golden State Warriors.  Communities all over Canada are taking their turn creating common areas to watch play-off games, and coming together during game-times to support the team.

Local residents in Niagara Falls want to be a part of the excitement and the City is getting involved.  The Raptors flag was raised today at Rosberg Park in front of City Hall and will remain up for the duration of the National Basketball League (NBA) finals.  The falls were lit “Raptor Red” to show support from citizens in the Golden Horseshoe for the Toronto Raptors and the Illumination Board confirmed that red lighting is set to continue throughout the playoffs on game nights.

“We are in the throes of the excitement with our Toronto Raptors and fans everywhere are cheering from communities everywhere.  In Niagara Falls we wanted to make a big statement.  We know that lighting the falls “Raptor Red” and flying the Raptor flag high are ways that we can show that we are all in this together!”

  • Mayor Jim Diodati

Free public viewings of playoff games are being advertised at Cineplex Odeon Niagara Square Cinemas, 7555 Montrose Road in Niagara Falls. Residents are encouraged to show their community support of the Toronto Raptors via social media using the hashtag #wethenorth.
