What are slow down lawn signs?
The slow down lawn signs provides another tool to confront the issue of speeding on residential streets. The intent is to raise awareness to the issue of speeding and to remind drivers of the importance to drive safely and obey the speed limit.
What does the sign look like?
The lawn sign includes the wording "SLOW DOWN" in a large-bold font in either white or yellow, contrasted with a black background for maximum effect of capturing the attention of drivers. Examples of these lawn signs are illustrated to the right of this page.
How to obtain a slow down lawn sign?
Residents of the City of Niagara Falls are eligible for one (1) free lawn sign per household, which is required to be installed on their own property. The sign must be set back a minimum 0.6 metres from the curb or edge of the road and not obstruct the travelled portion of the road, median, traffic island, sidewalk, bicycle path, or multi-use trail.
