City of Niagara Falls Opens Outdoor Pools on July 1st

The City of Niagara Falls welcomes the announcement from the Province that the City can proceed with the next phase of our reopening plans.  Commencing July 1st, the City of Niagara Falls will be opening our 5 outdoor pools.

12:00-1:00 - Older Adult Lane Swim (50+)
1:00-2:30 - Public Swim
2:30-2:45 - CLOSED for cleaning and sanitization
2:45-4:15 - Public Swim
4:15-4:30 - CLOSED for cleaning and sanitization
4:30-6:00 - Public Swim
Buck Hinsberger Pool:
12:30-2:30 - Public Swim
2:30-2:45 - CLOSED for cleaning and sanitization

Adult Lane Swim:
Please call your preferred pool, phone numbers listed above, the day before to reserve your lane for Adult Lane Swim. Reservations will be for a 30-minute block of time for each person. No reservations will be accepted after 5:00 p.m.

Pool Protocols:
To protect everyone’s health during COVID-19, a reduced number of individuals will be allowed to use the pool at one time.

We are keeping our pools safe for you by:

  • enforcing patron and staff COVID-19 screening protocols
  • reducing pool capacity
  • adhering to rigorous sanitation practices
  • educating staff on reducing the spread of infection
  • providing hand sanitizer stations  
  • closely monitoring updates and guidance from public health agencies

Additional Swimmer Information:

  • entrance and exit will be through the gates (not the pool building)
  • come to the pool ready to swim – access to facilities will be limited to washrooms with no change room access
  • please stay home if not feeling well!

Please note that:

  • The City's seven splash pads are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week with COVID-19 protocols in place.
  • Play structures at City of Niagara Falls parks remain closed.
  • Residents are reminded to take extra caution and use these outdoor recreational amenities at their own risk.
  • High touch-points at these outdoor areas (gates, benches etc.) are not cleaned frequently.
  • Remember to wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based sanitizer after use.
