Seize the opportunity to perform the national anthem at a City Council meeting!
Calling all youth singers and musicians! Niagara Falls City Council is seeking up-and-coming artists to perform ‘O Canada’ at each Council meeting in 2024. This is your chance to showcase your talent!
How to apply
- Complete the online application form.
- Include a video or audio recording of your anthem performance in the application. If you have trouble uploading your performance, email it to Heather Ruzylo.
- Only successful applicants will be contacted.
Details
- Eligibility: You must be a resident of Niagara Falls.
- Who can apply: School-aged children and teenagers, but all ages are welcome.
- Performance opportunities: There are about 16 Council meetings per year.
- Performance options: Perform live in Council Chambers at City Hall or submit a pre-recorded video.
- Exposure: Performances will be part of the Council meeting stream on the City of Niagara Falls YouTube channel and the YourTV Community channel (also available on Epico channels 100 and 700).
- Who can perform: Soloists, groups, and choirs are welcome. Instruments are allowed.
- Compensation: No financial compensation or honorarium will be given.
Those who are not eligible to participate
- Political parties or organizations
- Commercial entities
- Groups or individuals that promote hatred, violence, or racism
- Anyone whose intent is against City policies or by-laws
