Niagara Falls Fire Department Appoints Deputy Chief

NIAGARA FALLS, ON - The City of Niagara Falls is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Wilkinson to the position of Deputy Fire Chief of Administration. Mr. Wilkinson has worked for the Niagara Falls Fire Department since 1993, initially as firefighter, then in 2012 to the position of Captain in the Suppression Division and in 2014 qualified as an Acting Platoon Chief. In 2019, Mr. Wilkinson had been in the role of Acting Deputy Chief Administration for a period of four months.

“I am extremely pleased with the appointment of Scott to the team. During his tenure as both Acting Platoon and Acting Deputy Chief, Scott has demonstrated his experience and qualifications for this role.  With my pending retirement, incoming Fire Chief Jo Zambito is looking forward to working with Scott as we continue to move the Niagara Falls Fire Department forward” stated Fire Chief Jim Boutilier.

Mr. Wilkinson will be responsible for managing and coordinating the Fire Prevention and Communications Divisions as the Niagara Falls Fire Department is committed to safely protecting life, property and the environment through education, prevention and emergency response. On occasion as Deputy Chief, Scott will assume responsibility for operations of the Fire Department in the absence of the Fire Chief.

“This opportunity provides me with a new role and responsibilities to the residents of Niagara Falls.  I look forward to the challenges ahead and working closely with the new management team” stated incoming Deputy Chief Wilkinson.

Mr. Wilkinson will assume his responsibilities with the City of Niagara Falls effective May 31, 2021.
