NIAGARA FALLS, ON - Family Day Weekend is almost here! Wondering what you should do? The City of Niagara Falls’ Family Fun Days contest is sure to be a great experience for all ages with a wide range of activities to try and a chance to win! There are eight prizes available, all in support of local businesses.
The Family Fun Days contest couldn’t be simpler: try any five of the suggested activities with your family this weekend and submit an online ballot to win.
“We have so many great suggestions to get cozy, get active, and get creative that we think that you will have trouble picking just five, but these ideas will help everyone stay active and make the most of their time together, any time,” says Kathy Moldenhauer, Director of Recreation & Culture.
The Recreation Committee came up with the idea for the contest as a way to promote Family Day, active living, and the City’s winter amenities including outdoor rinks, tobogganing hills and local trails. The concept expanded to include activities that could be done at home, such as special family meals, DIY projects, and low-key activities for winding down and relaxing. The contest also includes Family Day programs offered through the Niagara Falls Public Library and Niagara Falls History Museum, and Heartland Forest’s backyard bird watching contest.
Families are encouraged to take photos and videos throughout the weekend, although it’s not required to enter the contest. Everyone is welcome to share their experiences with #mycitynf and follow @niagarafallsrecreation on Instagram for updates and more community events and programs.
The Family Fun Days contest is free and open to all Niagara Falls residents. As provincial gathering restrictions remain in effect, for the purposes of this contest, “family” means the members of your household. Eight lucky families will be selected by random draw and will each receive a $25 gift card in support of a local business of their choice (some restrictions apply, see contest rules for details). Activities are to be completed between Friday, February 12 and Monday, February 15, 2021. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
