NIAGARA FALLS, ON - The City of Niagara Falls will officially recognize the completion of park improvements at John N. Allan Park on Monday, September 28th, 2020. Nets will be installed on the four new tennis/pickleball courts and a ribbon cutting will take place to mark the occasion.
The new multi-court complex is a direct result of the Niagara Falls Tennis and Basketball Service Delivery Review completed in 2017. The courts feature a smooth Plexipave® high performance surface to accommodate small recreational tournament play and give both tennis and pickleball users opportunities for social and competitive play.
Other upgrades to the park include a refurbished multi-use basketball/street hockey court, parking lot upgrades, accessible walkways, seating improvements, relocation of the existing natural ice skating area, new drainage catch basins, more trees and other landscaping.
In 2018, a new playground and a turf cricket pitch were installed in the park.
