WHAT: Niagara Region Mandatory Face Coverings in Enclosed Public Places By-law       


WHERE: All Niagara region municipalities


WHEN: By-law now in effect (as of Friday, July 31, 2020)


WHY: Don’t forget your face covering! Wearing a face covering is now required when inside an enclosed public place and on Regional and municipal public transit in Niagara. This is in accordance with the Regional Face Coverings By-law. A non-medical mask or face covering should cover the nose, mouth, and chin, and can be cloth or disposable. This by-law does not apply to children under the age of five and those who are unable to wear a face covering as a result of a medical condition or disability. For more information visit
