NIAGARA FALLS, ON - The City of Niagara Falls has established a new, temporary TransCab Service Zone in the south west end of the city. TransCabs will transport bus riders to the Niagara Square transfer hub where they can connect with both Niagara Falls Transit and Niagara Region buses. The new service began Monday, October 15, and will run until the new fixed route service and transit infrastructure is completed in January 2019.

The temporary TransCab service will promote pedestrian safety and ensure access to public transportation for riders in this area over the next few months as seasonal weather sets in.

The new zone will serve the Niagara Square/Heartland Forest Neighbourhood bordered east and west by Kalar and Garner Roads and north and south by McLeod and Brown Roads. The TransCab Transfer Point for this zone is Niagara Square, located at 7555 Montrose Road. A map is available on the City’s website at niagarafalls.ca/transit.

TransCab is operated in this area by Central Taxi, Monday to Saturday, from 6 a.m. to midnight, and Sundays and holidays, from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. The service is offered at the regular transit fare cost per rider. Pass holders can use their valid passes to obtain transfers to and from TransCab.

Riders can learn more about how to use TransCab Services, zones and connections by calling the Niagara Falls Transit Customer Service desk at 905-356-1179 or visiting the City’s website at niagarafalls.ca/transit.

About TransCab Service Zones
TransCab Service Zones are established within the City as an alternative service for areas of the city that either do not warrant full time regular transit service or in new neighbourhoods that are waiting for the development of fixed route service and transit infrastructure like bus stops and sidewalks.  Passengers use a taxi service provider to connect them to and from the regular Niagara Falls Transit system at zone-specific transfer hubs.
