Haven't played in a while? Dust off your old instrument and make some music again. We can accommodate any traditional band instrument other than guitar and piano. Participants must be able to read music and have a basic competency on their instrument. Registration is required. Ages 18+ Wednesdays, April 3, 10, 24 & May 1.

Arbour Day Tree Planting

The Park in the City Committee will celebrate Arbour Day with the Chippawa Lions Club, various students, and local volunteers who will help plant 50 native trees at Chippawa Lions Park. The location chosen was recently devastated by the Emerald Ash Borer. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls Sunrise, Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. and Land Care Niagara for contributing.

Annual Tree Seedling Sale Day

Local residents, businesses, and schools are encouraged to plant native trees to help restore health to our urban environment. For only $5.00 each, the following native seedlings can be purchased: Eastern Hemlock, White Pine, Red Oak, Tulip, & Bitternut Hickory. Residents can pre-order 5 to 25 seedlings with prepayment at the MacBain Community Centre or the Gale Centre from April 1st-23rd.

Community Clean Sweep Day

Twice each year, volunteers scatter throughout parks, trails, walkways, and main street boulevards with recycling and garbage bags, collecting litter. Starting at Mick & Angelo's Restaurant at 9 a.m., volunteers can pick up their cleaning supplies and instructions. This event is rain or shine. Volunteers are asked to register online to participate.

Ride of Silence

Join the Park in the City Committee as they host their 13th Annual Ride of Silence event. The annual free bicycle ride event encourages all residents to take part and ride in honour of severely injured and fallen cyclists. All ages and skill levels are welcome; only a safe bike and helmet are required for this slow, procession style, approx. 10 km ride. No registration required.

The Park in the City Committee (and Trillium Recognition Sub-Committee) looks to foster city-wide beautification efforts from all property owners through this recognition program. By enhancing their curb-side appeal, property owners can achieve levels of excellence to display in their garden. Submissions are accepted until July 1st.
