How to apply to be a member of the Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee

MYAC is a great way to become involved and showcase youth presence within the community of Niagara Falls.

Expectations

Each committee member is required to attend all meetings as well as join at least 1 sub-committee. The MYAC meetings run on the first Wednesday of every month as well as the sub-committees meet bi-weekly (minimum). This time commitment is mandatory for all MYAC members, to make a true difference in the Niagara Falls community.

The 2018-2019 meeting dates are scheduled as follows:

    • November 7
    • December 5
    • January 9 (2nd Wednesday due to Christmas Break)
    • February 6
    • March 6
    • April 3
    • May 1
    • June 5

The 2019-2020 Mandatory Training and Leadership will take place on the following dates and times:

    • Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
    • Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 3:30 to 7:30 pm
    • Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 3:30 to 7:30 pm

Please Note: participation on at least one sub-committee is mandatory and several additional sub-committee meetings will be scheduled as required.

Forms

The following form will be distributed at your local high school in Niagara Falls, in order to fill out and return to become a part of MYAC. The principal of your high school will also have the form in order to apply to become a part of MYAC.

You can complete the MYAC Application Form, print it out and then hand it in to your principal if you go to schools:

  • Saint Michael
  • Saint Paul
  • AN Myer
  • Westlane
  • Stamford

If you do not attend the listed schools and are a Niagara Falls resident attending high school, or you wish to submit online, please complete the online MYAC Application Form.
