  • Are there lockers available at the MacBain Community Centre

    Yes, lockers are available in the change rooms. Change rooms and showers are available with paid activities. Facility users must bring their own locks and remove when they are ready to leave the facility.

  • Can I book a court to play squash or racquetball?

    Yes, individuals can book the courts and pay an hourly rental fee plus insurance. There are also drop in times available throughout the day.

  • Can I rent a room at the MacBain Community Centre for a birthday party, shower, or family gathering?

    Yes, rooms are available to rent. If you're planning to include food and drinks for your event, an on-site facility food vendor is available to meet your needs.

  • Can I use the change rooms?

    The change rooms are available for patrons using the facility. The change rooms include male, female, and family. There will not be any "plus" change rooms like the YMCA operated.

  • Can I use the indoor track?

    Yes, the track is open to the public when the facility is open.

  • Can I use the sauna?

    The sauna is open during lane and open swims. Check out the pool schedule for times.

    Sauna Rules

    • Use by children under 17 years of age is prohibited.
    • Persons with medical conditions, using medications or pregnant should consult a physician before entering the sauna. 
    • Do not use sauna under the influence of alcohol, anticoagulants, vasoconstrictors, vasodilators, stimulants, hypnotics, narcotics and/or tranquilizers. 
    • Remove all jewelry. 
    • Commercial swim attire, work out shorts and shirts must be worn while using the sauna. 
    • Observe time limit of 10 minutes maximum.
    • Excessive exposure may be harmful to your health. 
    • Exit immediately if uncomfortable, dizzy or sleepy and notify lifeguards. 
    • Do not pour water or place combustible materials on sauna. 

    The sauna is a shared environment. Please treat all with respect, fairness and dignity.

  • Can I use the steam rooms?

    No, steam rooms will not be available at the MacBain Community Centre.

  • Can we swim at the facility?

    Yes, there is public swimming hours, lane swims, and many aquatic programs. All services are paid for individually with no membership required.

  • How do I rent the gymnasium?

    Individuals and organizations can book the gymnasium as either full gym or 1/3 gym by contacting the MacBain Community Centre staff at [email protected] or by calling 905-356-7521 x 3330.

    No, memberships are not required for most users. The MacBain Community Centre is open to the entire community and not membership based. Exception: there are memberships required for some older adult programs.

    No, however, the facility does offer fitness and wellness programs but does not have a weight room or cardio machines.

    The operating hours are Monday to Friday from 7 am to 9 pm and Saturday & Sundays 7 am to 5 pm

    The community centre is open to the public for use by all. Most programs and activities are pay as you go.

    The City of Niagara Falls owns the MacBain Community Centre. There was a common misconception that the YMCA of Niagara owned the facility. The YMCA was a partner in the facility.
