The 2022 Municipal Election will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022. Voters will be electing:

  • The Mayor of Niagara Falls
  • Eight Niagara Falls City Councillors 
  • Three Niagara Regional Councillors to represent Niagara Falls
  • Trustees for the District School Board of Niagara, Niagara Catholic District School Board, Le Conseil Scolaire Viamonde, and Conseil Scolaire Catholique MonAvenir

Nomination Period 

Anyone who wishes to be a candidate must file a Nomination Paper. The nomination period is open from May 2, 2022 and closes on August 19, 2022 at 2 p.m. For more information about being a candidate and filing a nomination, check out our Information for Candidates page.

Before visiting City Hall to file nominations, we ask all prospective candidates to please make an appointment with the Clerk's Department by calling: 905-356-7521 ext. 0

The City Clerk's staff are pleased to assist with any questions that you may have concerning the Municipal Election. If you have comments or concerns regarding the election process, forms, method of voting, polling locations, voters' list or other matters pertaining to the Municipal Election, please let us know. Further, we welcome feedback to identify areas where changes need to be considered; and ways in which the City can improve the delivery of an accessible election.
