Recreation and Culture

June is Recreation & Parks Month

This month highlights the importance of parks, green spaces, and recreational activities in creating vibrant and inclusive communities. Many municipalities and organizations throughout Ontario participate in this month-long celebration. The City of Niagara Falls is celebrating June is Recreation and Parks Month by hosting a month end event on Saturday, June 28th at Ker Park.  The event will recognize the grand opening of newly built pickleball courts at the park.  There will be a free "Learn to Play Pickleball" session from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm for all ages with complimentary equipment and instructors to help residents learn the game of pickleball. Additionally, a ceremony will take place starting at 1:00 pm for the grand opening of the 6 new courts and to also recognize OLG's financial contribution towards the newly built courts. Mayor Diodati, fellow Councillors and OLG representatives will be on site to kick-off the ceremony.  To learn more about the event, please email us or call 905-356-7521 ext.3341. For more information on the new pickleball courts, visit our engagement section on the website.
