Project Description

The Water Rescue Robot is standard rescue equipment that can remotely bring a rope and PFD to a victim. This will be used when responding to water rescues in the upper and lower Niagara River, including the Welland River. The Water Rescue Robot is equipped with a grab bar, making it convenient for the trapped person to grasp the robot. It can drag four people at the same time. It can be operated quickly in dangerous situations, improving rescue efficiency while ensuring rescuers' safety. The City of Niagara Falls has purchased two units, one for the Fire Department and one for the St. John Ambulance Water Rescue unit.
