Project Description
The Niagara Falls Fire Department’s (NFFD) aerial is an integral part of rope rescue in the Niagara River. The NFFD is the only department in North America that utilizes an aerial for these rescues. Aerial 1 is a 2009 apparatus with a 20-year life span under the Underwriters of Canada. This apparatus requires replacement as per our Apparatus Replacement Schedule and to comply with the Underwriters of Canada requirements.
