Project Description
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or garments which may include; bunker gear, helmets, gloves, and all technical rescue personal protective equipment. This equipment is required by both full-time and volunteer Firefighters on an ongoing basis. NFPA standard 1851, along with Ministry of Labour section 21 committee, indicates a firefighter should have two (2) sets of bunker gear. The gear lasts 10 years before the need to retire it. The Niagara Falls Fire Department is on a 5-year replacement plan for each staff member in order to minimize cost and be compliant with the MOL and NFPA.
