Dell Storage Area Network
The purchase of a new Storage Area Network(SAN) with a 150 terabytes of storage will replace our existing SAN storage. There is an increase in storage demands on our existing SAN to accommodate more data such as sewer videos (which could take up to 40 terabytes over the next 3 years), ortho imagery used in mapping, CAD drawings, and an overall increase in graphics rich files. The need for speed is also a factor which the new hardware can provide with solid state hard drives and 10GB network connectivity. The old SAN will still be used and moved as additional storage for the disaster recovery replication SAN. This project is funded from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) compensatory payment.
