Effective immediately, based upon recommendation of our structural engineering consultant from on-going monitoring, the existing Detenbeck Road Bridge has revealed changes in its condition requiring the implementation of the following restrictions:
- Load limit reduced to 2.5 tonnes for all non-emergency and non-essential vehicles
- Speed limit reduced to 10 km/h
Only emergency services and essential deliveries (e.g., water supply) will be permitted to use the bridge under these conditions.
The City of Niagara Falls will be replacing the Detenbeck Road Bridge. This project will be completed by Rankin Construction Inc. with construction tentatively scheduled to begin the week of September 1, 2025, and will continue for approximately 40 working days, weather permitting.
