The City of Niagara Falls has declared a "Significant Weather Event" effective 2:00pm February 15 2025.
As per the Ontario Regulation 239/02 (Minimum Maintenance Standards) the city may declare a significant weather event when the forecast or prevailing weather conditions have the potential to pose a significant danger to users of the roadways and sidewalks.
This is not a notification of reduced service. It is intended to inform residents that they must exercise caution if they must travel on or along City of Niagara Falls roadways/sidewalks. It is also notification that roadway maintenance may take longer than usual due to the timelines and severity of the forecast event.
The City of Niagara Falls will issue a public notice when this significant weather event has ended.
