A significant winter storm is expected to impact our area from Saturday, February 15, through Monday, February 17, with up to 30 cm of snowfall. Our Municipal Roadways Division will actively manage snow-clearing operations throughout the storm.
Winter Storm Response:
Saturday, Feb. 15
12:00 PM: Storm maintenance begins with main road coverage and sidewalk clearing on select arterial roads.
12:00 AM (Midnight): Full plow operation begins.
Sunday, Feb. 16
5:00 AM: Full sidewalk clearing begins.
Main road coverage throughout the day.
12:00 AM (Midnight): Second full plow operation.
Monday, Feb. 17
5:00 AM: Second full sidewalk clearing operation begins.
Additional clearing of laneways, crosswalks, trails, and parking lots is part of the operation.
If a Significant Weather Event is declared, the standard timelines required for municipalities to meet their winter maintenance objectives are suspended. Our crews will focus on keeping roads and sidewalks as safe and accessible as possible throughout the storm. Regular winter maintenance timelines will resume only after the Significant Weather Event has ended.
