School Holiday Programs (PD Days)

The City of Niagara Falls will host a variety of programs for kids and families to enjoy on the upcoming PD Day, Friday, June 5. The MacBain Community Centre, Niagara Falls History Museum, and Niagara Falls Public Library all have something to offer.


Niagara Falls History Museum

Art-Full PD Day: Spin, Squish & Create (registered program)

Get ready to spin, squish, swirl, and splash into a world of colourful creativity! Young artists will explore exciting hands-on art using shaving cream, salad spinners, and colour. This sensory art adventure is perfect for little makers who love to get messy and experiment—be sure to dress for art!

Art-Full PD Day: Sculpt & Paint (registered program)

Dive into an ocean of creativity as we sculpt and paint adorable sea turtles from Model Magic clay! Artists will learn fun sculpting techniques, add colourful painted details, and discover fascinating sea turtle facts along the way. It’s a turtle-y awesome art adventure you won’t want to miss—dress for mess!

Art-Full PD Day: Sketch & Paint (registered program)

Buzz into an afternoon of artistic fun as we sketch and paint two 5x7 canvases featuring our favourite garden friends—bumble bees and ladybugs! Artists will bring these tiny creatures to life with their own creative flair and unique style. We can’t wait to see these bug-tastic masterpieces bloom—dress for art and expect a little mess!

  • Who: 8 to 14 years
  • Price: $24 per person

We reserve the right to cancel the workshop if not enough participants enroll, in this instance all enrollment fees will be refunded. Pre-Registration is required. Tickets are non-refundable. 

MacBain Community Centre

PD Day: Flying Fun (registered program)

Get ready to build, launch, and fly! Participants will create paper airplanes, paper helicopters, and stomp rockets while testing their designs in fun challenges and games. Try to fly the farthest, hit targets, and complete exciting flight missions. This hands-on program mixes creativity, movement, teamwork, and lots of fun! 

Parent supervision required. Payment is required for children only.

Drop in gym programs

Pop by the MacBain Community Centre for family-focused drop-in activities:

This relaxed, drop-in program for children aged 2 to 8 years of age is an unstructured playtime for fun in a gym space. No registration is required.

When: 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm

PD Day drop-in fun on June 5

Join us for games, crafts, obstacle courses, scavenger hunts and more. Have some fun at the library on your day off from school!

Join us for EarlyON! You’ll find fun activities like songs, stories, and creative play for kids, as well as opportunities for parents and caregivers to connect with Early Childhood Professionals, community partners and with each other in this play-based environment.
