Adult Drop-in Programs

You can attend a variety of adult (18+) drop-in programs without signing up in advance. Join our fitness and recreation programs at the MacBain Community Centre or enjoy skating and hockey at the arenas.

Drop in programs

Drop-in Aquafit

For ages 18+. No pre-registration is needed. Use the buoyancy and resistance of the water for a safe, effective full-body workout. This class focuses on cardiovascular fitness, muscle toning, flexibility, and increased mobility. Various resistance equipment is used. You can participate in either the shallow or the deep end. Make a splash with us in this fun water class!

Barre Fusion

A barre-inspired fitness class is a low impact, full-body workout that blends elements of ballet, Pilates, and strength training. Using small controlled movements and high repetitions, participants focus on building muscular endurance, improving posture, and enhancing flexibility. The class incorporates a chair for balance, along with light weights, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises to target the arms, core, glutes, and legs.

  • Tuesdays at 6:30 pm

Cardio HIIT

HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a cardio workout that alternates between short bursts of intense exercise and brief recovery periods. It's a fun and effective way to improve fitness, burn calories, and boost metabolism in less time than traditional cardio.

  • Mondays at 7:15 am
  • Wednesdays at 7:15 am
  • Fridays at 7:15 am

Cardio Flow

Cardio Flow is a low impact to moderate intensity workout that combines continuous movement, balance, coordination and light strength training to improve heart health, mobility, endurance, and core stability. The flowing movement patterns help support joint function, posture and daily functional fitness while keeping the body active without long periods of strain.

  • Sundays at 10:15 am

Hatha Yoga

With this type of yoga, you move your body slowly and deliberately into different poses that challenge your strength and flexibility while at the same time focusing on relaxation and mindfulness.

  • Sundays at 9:00 am
  • Thursdays at 7:30 pm

Power Flow Foundation

Power Flow Foundation is a gentle yet empowering strength-building program that blends Pilates flow with foundational resistance training. Designed for beginners, this program helps develop core strength and functional movement and full-body muscular balance.

  • Sundays at 11:30 am

Shape and Tone

Exercises focus on adding definition to your physique with higher reps and lower weight. These workouts will help improve your circulation, metabolism, and caloric burn, further enhancing the shape and definition of your muscles.

  • Wednesdays at 12:15 pm
  • Thursdays at 6:30 pm

Skating and hockey at the arenas

Strength and Conditioning

This class is designed to create a stronger body by working on strengthening muscles, bones and joints in a safe and controlled environment. Using body weight and dumbbells, learn a variety of ways to excite your muscles and strengthen your body. 

  • Tuesdays at 7:00 pm 

Strength and Stretch

Improve strength and balance with weights, bands, and body weight exercises. Then enjoy a long stretch and relax.

  • Thursdays at 7:45 pm

Zumba

With the high-octane dance, you will see some serious moves as you go through the routines, all choreographed to upbeat and fast-paced music.

  • Mondays at 6:30 pm
  • Thursdays at 6:30 pm
