Outdoor Pools & Splash Pads

Whether you're looking for lessons, a playful open swim, or relief from the heat, community pools offer something for everyone! In the summer, there are four outdoor municipal pools, seven splash pads, and one spray pad to enjoy. Public swimming is free at all outdoor pools, but adult lane swimming requires a pre-purchased pass.

Beat the heat by staying poolside this summer. Pack a picnic and spend the day enjoying the fun in the sun at one of our great outdoor pools. Public swimming is free!

Location: Chippawa Lions Park, Buck Hinsperger Pool, 3970 Welland Street
Pool opening date: Friday, June 26
Free public swim: 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Pool closing date: Sunday, August 30

Location: F.H. Leslie Park, 5250 Valley Way
Pool opening date: Saturday, June 13
Hours of operation: 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm (3:00 pm to 7:00 pm from June 15 to 19)
Swimming lessons: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Adult swim: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm (use your pass card or punch card)
Free public swim: 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Pool closing date: Monday, September 7

Adult outdoor swim lane pass

You can purchase a pass in person at the MacBain Community Centre, the Gale Centre Arena or City Hall. MacBain swim pass users can use their current pass without purchasing an outdoor lane pass separately.

Splash pads

Splash pads are open daily in summer from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm at several locations across the city. We plan to open them at the end of May, weather permitting.
