Off-Leash Dog Parks
Dog lovers have two great off-leash parks in Niagara Falls to enjoy from dawn to dusk - safe, open spaces where pets can run free and owners can connect.
Operating hours and closures
The two off-leash dog parks are open daily from dawn to dusk, all year round.
The walking paths within the dog parks are maintained in the winter.
The City reserves the right to close the dog parks for public use at any time, during maintenance operations or for scheduled special events. Notices of closures will be posted on the homepage.

Rules of the leash-free dog parks
- Keeping parks clean of dog waste: Thank you for keeping our parks clean so everyone can enjoy them and discourage unwanted pests. Use the Sutera Dog Waste In-Ground Containers, conveniently located near the park entrances!
- Use at your own risk: Users are advised to use the dog parks at their own risk and discretion. The City of Niagara Falls, the S.C.V.F.A., and the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society are not responsible for any loss, damage or injury that may occur from the use of these dog parks.
- By-law and regulations: Dog Owners are subject to the Ontario Dog Owners’ Liability Act and applicable City By-Laws, including the Parks By-law
- Licensing and health: All dogs must have valid license tags and up-to-date vaccinations (e.g., rabies). City staff or the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society may conduct health or tag inspections
- Supervision and control: Always keep your dog in sight and under verbal control. Children under 13 must have adult supervision in the dog parks.
- Restricted dogs: Dogs under four months, sick or injured dogs, female dogs in heat, and aggressive dogs are not allowed. Aggressive dogs must leave the park immediately.
- Size-specific areas: Use the designated small or large dog areas based on your dog’s size
- Limit on dogs: A maximum of three dogs per owner/handler is allowed
- Prohibited items and activities: No glass containers, food, toys, smoking, vaping, or alcoholic beverages are permitted in the parks
- Access and authority:
The City and the Stamford Centre Volunteer Firemen's Association (S.C.V.F.A.) have the authority to deny access to the Niagara Falls Dog Park at Firemen's Park- The City and the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society have the authority to deny access to the Niagara Falls Bark Park on Chippawa Parkway
- The City reserves the right to close the dog parks to public use at any time, seasonally during winter months, during maintenance operations, or for scheduled special events
