Niagara Falls Memorial Arena Relic Card

The City of Niagara Falls is excited to announce a unique fundraising initiative combining local history and community support. Limited edition acrylic cards containing small fragments of brick from the historic Niagara Falls Memorial Arena are now available for purchase, with 100% of the proceeds dedicated to the Niagara Falls Activity Subsidy Fund.

About the cards

Each card measures 3" x 4" and is encapsulated in high-quality acrylic. It features a fragment from the Memorial Arena, which opened its doors in 1950 and was decommissioned in 2010 after the Gale Centre was constructed. The arena was a key venue for local sports, hosting junior-A hockey teams like the Niagara Falls Flyers and Thunder, as well as the junior-B Canucks, fostering a deep sense of community pride.

Adding value and a personal touch, the back of each card is autographed by former Niagara Falls Flyers player Steve Ludzik, who enjoyed a successful nine-season career in the NHL and later served as head coach for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Niagara Falls Activity Subsidy Fund aims to assist residents with registration fees and equipment costs for various community activities. This initiative will help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate, regardless of their financial situation.

With limited availability, residents and fans alike are encouraged to act fast to purchase these commemorative cards to support their community while capturing a piece of Niagara Falls' sporting history.

100% of the funds go to the City's Activity Subsidy Fund. Through its fundraising activities, the Recreation Committee allocates limited subsidies to individuals requiring financial assistance to participate in community recreation activities. Funding requests are considered for a variety of recreation activities.
