The story of All Saints Church began in 1820 when Reverend William Leeming came to the Drummondville area. In 1830, Reverend F.W. Miller came to help him. Around 1836, Rev. Miller decided to build his own chapel, St. George’s, on Main Street. People from Holy Trinity Church in Chippawa and Rev. Leeming’s group started going there.
After Rev. Miller died in 1847, his sister Caroline deeded St. George’s to Rev. Leeming. The old chapel was taken down, and in 1856, a new church called All Saints was built on Robinson Street. The land was a gift from the wife of Lieutenant General John Murray, who once helped start a company called the City of the Falls Company.
All Saints Church opened in November 1857. The Bishop of Toronto led the special consecration service on November 1, 1857.
In 2004, the church was closed and put up for sale. 2008 the City of Niagara Falls gave the church a Heritage Designation. The City now works with the Anglican Diocese to care for the cemetery and landscaping at the front. Cemetery Services also help with burials at the site.
