Niagara Falls, ON - Niagara Parks, in partnership with the City of Niagara Falls, will implement planned road closures across key tourism areas near the Falls during holiday weekends that typically bring high volumes of visitation.

2025 Holiday Road Closure Schedule
Effective 7 p.m. - 1 a.m.

  • Victoria Day Long Weekend: Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18
  • Canada Day: Tuesday, July 1
  • Independence Day (U.S.): Friday, July 4
  • Civic Holiday Long Weekend: Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3
  • Labour Day Weekend: Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31
  • New Year’s Eve: Wednesday, December 31

Traffic Considerations

The Niagara Parkway between Clifton Hill and Fraser Hill will be closed to all vehicular traffic beginning at 7 p.m., with a full road closure in place by 8 p.m. Clifton Hill from Victoria Avenue to Falls Avenue will also be closed to vehicular traffic during that time. The roads will reopen to traffic by 1 a.m., following the nightly fireworks.

By closing these roadways to vehicular traffic, pedestrians will have smoother and safer access throughout the core tourism area during holiday celebrations that typically bring higher visitation to Niagara Falls. This will also assist Niagara Parks Police Service and Niagara Regional Police Service in managing the area, as well as providing controlled access for emergency services.

All road closures will be at the discretion of the Niagara Parks Police Service and Niagara Regional Police Service and timing may be adjusted as required. In the event of inclement weather or lower-than-anticipated visitation levels, closures may be modified or cancelled. Should additional road closures be required based on visitation levels beyond the planned schedule, this will be at the discretion of the Niagara Parks Police Service.

Parking and Transportation

All Niagara Parks operations, including parking lots and WEGO bus services, will run as usual throughout each long weekend. The Falls Incline Railway will operate until 1 a.m. to assist guests travelling between Queen Victoria Park and surrounding tourism areas. Guests should anticipate potential service delays or disruptions on routes through the tourist area.

Guests driving to Niagara Falls are encouraged to take advantage of the many parking lots in the area, especially Niagara Parks’ Rapidsview Parking Lot, which offers $10 parking and a convenient shuttle service to and from Table Rock Centre, also included with the purchase of an Adventure Pass.

The WEGO Bus Service offers a hop-on, hop-off transportation system that connects all Niagara Parks locations to nearby hotels as well as other tourism areas. To view WEGO schedules, visit niagaraparks.com/wego.

For those travelling from the GTA, Niagara GO Train Service is available daily, with a connection to WEGO at the Niagara Falls train station. More information is available at niagaraparks.com/go.
