NIAGARA FALLS, ON - Parking in Niagara Falls just got easier for residents and visitors. The City has appointed PayByPhone, a global leader in mobile parking payments, as an additional option to its current digital parking payments. Starting early this month, parkers will be able to use PayByPhone at 50 parking locations, including 11 ungated parking lots - a total of 2,655 parking spaces – across the City of Niagara Falls.
Paul Brown, Manager of Parking Services, with the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario, says, “It was critical for us to include a parking app that has a global reach to cater for our approximately 14 million visitors per year. PayByPhone gives us that, and more. Not only is the app available in 11 languages, making it incredibly inclusive for both our residents and visitors, but it also has many value-added in-app features.”
Parkers can extend their parking session, in accordance with the location’s terms and conditions, remotely via the app or a wearable device, such as an Apple Watch, without having to return to their vehicle or visit a payment kiosk. And they can also opt-in to have text message reminders of when their parking session is about to expire to avoid costly citations. A parking session can be started and completed in three quick steps – entering the location number, entering the duration, and paying.
Parkers using PayByPhone also have access to the app’s Maps and the Nearby Parking features. The Maps feature allows drivers to locate parking locations before they leave for their destination. The Nearby Parking feature instantly provides parkers with the closest PayByPhone parking location number.
Carmen Donnell, Managing Director North America for PayByPhone, says, “We are thrilled to launch PayByPhone in the City of Niagara Falls. In line with PayByPhone’s ethos, we will help to simplify the parking experience for those who are ready to experience the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls, whether they brave the heights of the Niagara SkyWheel, soak up the breathtaking views of the Falls on a Niagara City Cruise, or they are just going about their normal day. We encourage parkers to download the PayByPhone app now, so they can use the new service immediately. One-time registration takes less than 30 seconds.”
To start using it today, download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store or visit the PayByPhone website at www.paybyphone.com.
