NIAGARA FALLS, ON— The City of Niagara Falls will officially recognize OLG for its financial contributions to over 50 new municipal projects initiated in the past year. The recognition event is scheduled for Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held on the second floor of Rink #1 at the Gale Centre Arena.
In 2024, OLG contributed over $19 million to the City of Niagara Falls to help fund various community projects. One of the locations benefiting from these contributions is the Gale Centre Arena. Most of the flooring in three of the four ice rinks was replaced recently, along with a large section of seating in Rink #1. These improvements represent some key renovations completed at the Gale Centre Arena since it opened in 2011.
“OLG is proud of the support provided to the City of Niagara Falls through the Municipality Contribution Agreement,” said Kathleen Devine, OLG’s Senior Municipal Relations Manager. “This includes funds for critical infrastructure projects across the city, such as the improvements to the Gale Centre Arena, along with various local programs and community festivals. Each and every year, 100 percent of OLG profits are reinvested in Ontario to support provincial priorities and help build stronger communities. We also appreciate the contribution of gaming employees at Fallsview Casino and Casino Niagara, who are making life in the City of Niagara Falls that much better.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the contribution will begin at 1:00 p.m. and feature comments from Mayor Diodati and representatives from OLG.
