Holiday Closures

City offices and facilities close on certain holidays throughout the year. Check the list below to see when we’re closed and how to reach us if you need help during that time.

Facility closures

City Hall, Wayne Thomson Building, Niagara Falls Museums, and the administrative offices at the Municipal Service Centre, will be closed on the following dates:

• Thursday January 1, 2026 - New Years Day 
• Monday, February 16, 2026 - Family Day
• Friday, April 3, 2026 - Good Friday
• Monday, April 6, 2026 - Easter Monday
• Monday, May 18, 2026 - Victoria Day
• Wednesday, July 1, 2026 - Canada Day
• Monday, August 3, 2026 - Civic Holiday
• Monday, September 7, 2026 - Labour Day
• Monday, October 12, 2026 - Thanksgiving
• Thursday, December 24, 2026 - Christmas Eve
• Friday, December 25, 2026 - Christmas
• Saturday, December 26, 2026 - Boxing Day

Emergencies after hours

City staff are available 24/7 to respond to municipal service-related emergencies, even when our administration offices are closed.

• For urgent municipal issues, such as water main breaks or sewer backups, call the Municipal Service Centre at 905-356-1355
