- Civil marriages in Niagara Falls can be performed by an Ontario judge, justice of the peace, or municipal clerk. The City Clerk and designated officials are authorized to perform these.
- The City Clerk has no authority to perform religious ceremonies
- Only an official from a recognized religion, authorized by the Office of the Registrar General, can perform a religious marriage in Ontario. To check if the person performing your marriage is approved, visit Registered Religious Officials or call Service Ontario at 1-800-461-2156.

Celebrate your love in the honeymoon capital of the world! You can exchange your vows at City Hall. Whether you're getting married or renewing your vows, Niagara Falls City Hall offers simple, meaningful, non-religious ceremonies in a welcoming setting. Let us help make your special day memorable.
Ceremony details
The following details apply to both civil marriage and vow renewal ceremonies unless otherwise noted:
- When: Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm (excluding holidays). The City Clerk may perform ceremonies outside these hours if available.
- Where: City Hall, 4310 Queen Street, Niagara Falls, in Council Chambers or outside, weather permitting
- Witnesses: Civil marriage ceremonies require two witnesses. If needed, the City can provide witnesses, or you can bring your own. Witnesses are not required for vow renewal ceremonies.
- Same-day services: Available upon request and availability. It's recommended to schedule a personalized ceremony in advance.

Vow renewal ceremonies
Already married and looking to celebrate your commitment? The City of Niagara Falls offers non-religious vow renewal ceremonies for couples who wish to reaffirm their marriage vows in a meaningful setting.
Vow renewal ceremonies:
- Are booked and scheduled the same way as civil marriage ceremonies
- Follow the same general terms and conditions
- Do not require a marriage licence or witness
Booking your ceremony
Civil marriage ceremonies:
- Get a marriage licence: Available at the City Clerk's office, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
- Schedule your ceremony: It must occur within three months of getting your marriage licence. Call 905-356-7521 ext. 0 or email clerk@niagarafalls.ca. Full payment is required to hold your date.

Payment and cancellation
- Full payment is required to reserve your date
- If you cancel within 14 days of your ceremony, you will only be refunded 50% of the ceremony fees (plus HST)
