Environmental Action Committee

The Environmental Action Committee works to protect and improve our city's natural spaces. We encourage community involvement in environmental projects, from tree planting to clean up events. By working together, we can create a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful city.

About us

Our mandate: To encourage environmental responsibility, city-wide beautification, promote recreation and active transportation usage and civic pride through community action.

Our vision: To achieve a clean and safe environment and encourage stewardship of natural resources through conservation, recycling, and planning.  We focus on growing the urban forest and promoting the use of trails and bikeways.

What we do

We serve an advisory role to the city council that:

  • Attends and actively contributes to committee meetings
  • Helps create and bring life to a variety of events and programs
  • Participates in community activities
  • Share ideas on topics that support the committee’s mandate

Each year, we plant trees and pollinator-friendly plants to create a greener city. You can support these efforts by making a donation. We accept both monetary and in-kind contributions.

Want to help?

Get involved in local environmental projects! Volunteer opportunities include tree planting, pollinator garden installations, community clean-up events, and adopt-a-street/trail/park or walkway.
