Seniors Advisory Committee

The Seniors Advisory Committee (SAC) acts as a liaison to enrich seniors' lives by identifying barriers, forming partnerships with the community, and providing a public forum for issues affecting seniors (60+ years).


We aim to:

  • Develop age-friendly initiatives
  • Foster community engagement
  • Support social inclusion and opportunities for seniors
  • Be your voice for senior issues

Applications to the committee are closed for this council term (2023-2026).

Meeting location: MacBain Community Centre, 7150 Montrose Road, Niagara Falls or on Teams.
Meeting dates and times: Held on the second Thursday of each month.

2025 Ontario Senior of the Year Award

Nominations have been submitted for the 2025 Ontario Senior of the Year Award. This award allows each municipality to honour one outstanding local resident who is 65 or older for their contributions to enriching our community's social, cultural, and civic life. 

The nominee must be at least 65 years old, an Ontario resident, and a living person who has made their community a better place. Seniors who qualify for this award may have contributed to arts, literature, community service, volunteering, education, environment, fitness and humanitarian activities.

The award is presented to the recipient in June during Seniors Month.
