Recreation Committee

Our purpose is to foster and develop recreation opportunities to enhance individual well-being, community well-being, and the well-being of our built and natural environments.


About us

Our responsibilities are:
  1. To provide recommendations to Council for recreation, trails, green space, and active transportation
  2. To provide input on recreation-related policies and procedures
  3. To act as an arbitrator for unresolved disputes on recreation-related matters such as facility schedules, fees and charges, and community problems associated with using parks and facilities
  4. To actively engage the community by developing partnerships with organizations, schools, and businesses
  5. To advocate for recreation organizations within the City of Niagara Falls
  6. To provide input on park, trail, and recreation-related projects when requested
  7. To advocate for the addition and preservation of green space
  8. To promote available programs, services, events and facilities to the residents of Niagara Falls
  9. To act as ambassadors of the Committee at various events and festivals
  10. To implement events to promote pride through community action
  11. To provide volunteer assistance on special projects
