Grand Opening Appearance Requests

What’s included? 

As part of your celebration, you may request: 

• A mayoral or delegate appearance for a ribbon-cutting ceremony
• Social media coverage on the Mayor’s social media platforms
• A grand opening certificate recognizing your event 

Requirements for participation 

To ensure we can support your request, please review the following criteria: 

• Notice period: Requests must be submitted at least seven business days before the scheduled event to allow for proper coordination
• Licensing: Where applicable, a valid municipal business licence must be in place. If you're unsure whether a licence is required, please contact City Hall at 905-356-7521 ext. 4283 for assistance.
  Note: Due to municipal by-law regulations, all required licences must be obtained prior to approval.
• Building permits and inspections: If a building permit is required for your location, it must be issued by the City of Niagara Falls, and all related inspections must be completed and approved
• Ribbon cutting: If you would like to include a ribbon cutting ceremony as part of your event, please note that the event organizer is responsible for providing the ribbon and scissors. This ensures you have the style and setup that best suits your celebration.
