Fee Waiver Policy

This policy offers financial help through fee waivers to nonprofit groups that run community-benefit programs, services, or events. It ensures the City supports festivals and events fairly without putting a strain on the annual budget.

How to apply for a fee waiver

Completed applications, including a copy of the group's budget, are only considered by the City Council three times during the year: March, June, and September. Please submit your fee waiver application well in advance of your proposed event.

  1. Review the Fee Waiver Policy before submitting your application
  2. Complete the Fee Waiver Application Form
  3. Submit the form in person or by mail to: City Hall, Clerks Department, 4310 Queen Street, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 6X5

Special event permit

You may also need a special event permit if the event takes place on municipal property, such as streets and parks. Types of events include filming, parades, bicycle tours and races, running events, processions, walk-a-thons, sidewalk sales, and more.

Event organizers can find more details and complete an application on the Special Events Planning Guide page.
