Policies on accessibility

Accessible customer service policy

We are dedicated to providing excellent customer service to all residents and visitors, treating everyone with dignity and respect. To achieve this, we recognize the diverse needs of our community, including those of individuals with disabilities.

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requires us to identify, remove, and prevent barriers to accessible customer service. This means we will follow specific guidelines, like notifying you of any temporary service disruptions. Plus, all our staff, Council Members, volunteers, and contractors receive training on how to provide accessible customer service.

To learn more, review the Accessible Customer Service Policy.

Integrating accessibility standards and multi-year plan

Website accessibility and usability

We’ve taken steps to ensure all website visitors can easily find the information they need. We are actively working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 standards. Plus, each web page on our site can be read aloud for added accessibility.
