Now Accepting Nominations for the 2026 Niagara Falls Summer Trillium Awards

NIAGARA FALLS, ON - The City of Niagara Falls is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Summer Trillium Awards, presented by Niagara Peninsula Energy.
The annual Trillium Awards recognize residents who help beautify Niagara Falls through attractive, well-maintained front yard landscaping. The program encourages property owners to enhance curb appeal while incorporating sound horticultural and environmental practices.
Scoring criteria ranges from 0-100 points assessed in 6 categories:
- Principles of Design
- Turf Quality
- Maintenance and Plant Diversity
- Hardscaping Features
- Unique Features
- Environmental Considerations
The program is free to enter and open to all residential properties within the City of Niagara Falls. Residents may nominate their own property or another property with the owner's permission.
The Trillium Program Sub-Committee reviews submitted photos and evaluates properties for Bronze, Silver, or Gold Trillium recognition.
Nominations are open until Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Recognition of Excellence Ceremony
Award recipients will be recognized at the 2026 Recognition of Excellence Ceremony on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the Gale Centre Arena Memorial Room, 5152 Thorold Stone Road.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with the ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Complimentary finger foods and wine will be provided courtesy of ceremony sponsors Kathy Tsiantoulas and Daniela Mitrovic, The Property Girls of RE/MAX Realty.
About the Environmental Action Committee
The Environmental Action Committee is a volunteer committee appointed by Niagara Falls City Council. The committee promotes environmental responsibility, community beautification, active transportation, and civic pride, while providing advice to Council on matters related to its mandate.
