The Niagara Falls Fire Department is excited to welcome residents and visitors to its annual Fire Prevention Day on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The highly anticipated community event will take place at Fire Station #4, located at 8696 Banting Ave in Chippawa.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the City of Niagara Falls will hold a flag raising for the "Every Child Matters" flag and then lower it to half-staff to commemorate National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. 

The Niagara Falls Fire Department (NFFD) will hold a Line of Duty Death Ceremony on Sunday, September 27, at 10:00 am at Fire Station 1, 5815 Morrison Street. Retired Captain Gary McIntosh, retired Platoon Chief Jack (Jesse) James and retired Captain William Collett will be added to the Line of Duty Death Memorial at this ceremony.
